Yachtmaster Offshore Prep Week
An RYA Yachtmaster Certificate of Competence is often the ultimate aim of aspiring skippers. It is a well-known, highly respected qualification worldwide, proving your experience and competence as a skipper.

We have got you covered with all the preparation and practice you need before taking the examination. Although there isn't a set syllabus for the course, it is designed to help you practice for the exam, refine your techniques, and eliminate any bad habits. During the course, you will practice night sailing, pilotage and blind navigation, as well as close-quarter boat handling and collision regulations.

Pre-Course Requirements
The RYA Yachtmaster exam requires that you have a GMDSS SRC VHF Certificate & a valid First aid at sea certificate
You must have completed;

50 days at sea (5 of which, being the Skipper)

2500 nautical miles (half being in tidal waters)
-
5 Passages over 60 miles (2 of which acting as Skipper)

2 overnight passages over 60 miles

All qualifying sea time must be within 10 years prior to the exam

Sailors are exposed to the elements and must always be prepared for 4 seasons. Due to limited storage on board, we always recommend you bring lightweight clothing to suit all possible weather scenarios. Key things to bring include;

Post Course
After being awarded your Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate, with some more theory-based courses under your belt you will be ready to become a commercially endorsed RYA Yachtmaster!
